New Old Stock (NOS).  This came to us in a box marked as spare, there is no indication that it has ever been used (paint at mounting flange is intact, shaft still has protective coating, no wear anywhere).  It does have paint scratches on the housing from handling/storage but is in very good condition.  Made in England by the S. Smith and Sons company.  This is an AC generator not DC.
The nameplate has the following information:  (some of the lettering was hard to read, we included some possible options, see pictures).
Code:         LDG3/2.5 (or 1DG3/2.5 OR IDG3/2.5)
Ser. No.      175
Max. Speed:   6000 RPM
Res. (Ohms):   55 Nom (Nominal)

There were also the following numbers provided with this unit, we are unsure if they were Work Order numbers or part numbers or warehousing ID numbers but they may be useful to someone.  The numbers are:
3-0064048-99 and 3-0064048
There was no information provided which would indicate the application or original equipment this was intended to be used.
