    Description

For bid is an original circa 1905-1915 POLICE & FIRE FIGHTERS' uniform cloth samples sheet from the Henderson-Ames Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan!  Wonderful card sheet with 16 cloth samples of uniform coat and pants clothing swatches for making "Service and Dress Uniforms."  These were "Superior Quality Uniforms, caps and equipment for Police and Fire departments."  Card has the following "Cloth samples for firemen and police uniforms:  Ashley, Oregon, 2016 Navy, 1382 Charlotteville, No. 9821, Uniform, 675 Serge, 67-29 Serge, Abbott Serge, Blue Serge, 8030 Blue O'Coat; 1394 Blue O'Coat; 1988 Blue Whipcord, 4000 Whipcord, Blue Doeskin; and 1618 O.D. Serge.  Some notations written in pen writing on the card.
GREAT illustrations of a police officer and fireman in uniforms, wearing their cap and helmet.  The card instructs the bearer to "See Catalogs."  This is a terrific piece of advertising for early police and firefighter uniforms in the United States of America.  Card measures 9 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide.
